SO WHAT IS STORYTELLING?

It's vibrant, it's interactive, it's engaging, and it's definitely NOT reading from a book. It's a sharing of a story whether it be traditional, modern, original or borrowed by telling it out loud.  It's the link between oral and aural.

I love stories, and the ideas and images they can convey and believe in to tell and not read as it aids connecting with the audience which helps me to gauge their interest and enable me to shorten or lengthen each story to suit any particular audience.

It's also more creative as each story evolves slightly each time it is told. It can be adapted, not tied to the words on the page. It also enables the listeners to create their own imaginative pictures and images of the story being told.

My Favourite stories are those with a twist in the tail, some humour e.g., The case of the smell; Coyote and The money tree; and Anansi.
